Geraldine "Gerry" Frances (Fortin) Clough Scarborough-Geraldine "Gerry" Frances (Fortin) Clough, 84, passed away peacefully March 22, 2023, at the Barron Center, Portland. She was born March 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Albert Rayphael Joseph and Evilena F. (Cummings) Fortin. Gerry grew up in Maine, boarding with several families. Gerry especially enjoyed her time living at "Ma York" and "Dad York's" farm, where she fed the chickens and collected eggs. Gerry attended Portland High School. She took an early leave from high school to care for her younger siblings while her parents worked. Gerry's main occupation was that of a mother and homemaker, but she also worked many jobs outside of the home. These jobs included: factory work, waitressing, and caregiving for seniors. Gerry had a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for animals. With her bright smile and charming disposition, Gerry made friends everywhere she went. In addition to her parents, Gerry was predeceased by her first husband, Norman Dobson, second husband, Wayne Clough, and life partner, Bill Stroud; and her brother, Robert Fortin, and sisters, Nancy Blaisdell, and RoseMary Madore. Surviving are her daughter, Doreen Bennett and her husband Ted, of Windham, her son, Christopher Dobson, of Portland, daughter, Caro Farmer, of Oakland, son, William Clough Sr. and his wife Heidi, of Saco; her brother, Charles Fortin, of Westbrook; Ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10am-11am at Dolby, Blais, & Segee, 434 River Rd, Windham, ME. There will be a funeral service following at 11a.m. with Reverend Fr. Tim Higgins officiating at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Brooklawn Cemetery, 2002 Congress St., Portland, ME.
