Windham Gerald P. "Murph" Murphy, 79, died Wednesday July 20, 2016, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born March 8, 1937, in Boston, MA, a son of Frederick and Celeste (Holden) Murphy. Murph grew up in Newton and Abington, MA, and was a graduate of Abington High School. He was a well-known painter in the Windham area and will always be remembered for his great personality and sense of humor. In addition to his parents Murph was predeceased by his siblings, Frederick, Raymond, Celeste and Charlotte. He is survived by his loving wife Jerrilyn (Vigeant) Murphy; sons, Jay Murphy, Joe Murphy and his wife Erin, and Brad Murphy all of Pembroke, MA; and a daughter Debbie Murphy of Pembroke, MA; brother, Richard Murphy and his wife Valarie of Marshfield Hills, MA; and a sister Cynthia Alexander of Natick, MA; and 9 grandchildren. A Celebration of Murph's life will be held from 12:00 – 4:00PM Saturday August 6, at the Windham Veterans Center.
