Scarborough – Gerald W. McCormick, 82, of Westbrook, died on March 23, 2025, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was born in Sanford on May 16, 1942, the son of Ernest and Bernardine (Currier) McCormick. Jerry attended Billings Senior High School graduating with the class of 1960. After graduation he served in The United States Airforce, before working as an engineer at Fairchild Semiconductor for 42 years. On April 16, 1966 he married Erlene Estes and they raised two children together. Jerry coached and umpired for Scarborough Little and Senior League Baseball; he was involved in Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed bowling and coached the junior league, was a lifetime member of SMUSBC, and inducted into their Hall of Fame. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, camping, feeding the neighborhood pets, taking a drive (especially if it was to see a covered bridge), and most of all he loved the time spent with family. Jerry was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Erlene (Estes) McCormick; his parents; his two brothers Ernest and Bernard McCormick; and sister Constance (McCormick) Radke. Jerry is survived by his son Jim and wife Laura McCormick of Scarborough; daughter Brenda and husband Randy Plummer of Scarborough; 2 grandsons, Brandon and Ryan; and Alexa, who he thought of as a granddaughter.
