Westbrook,   George E. Robertson, 73, of Saco St., Westbrook, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at Maine Medical Center. He was born in Portland, and raised in Westbrook, the son of Edwin and Doris (McKenzie) Robertson. He graduated from Westbrook High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army, spending 15 months in Vietnam. George was a truck driver for E. Perry Scrap Metal Co. for many years. He became active in local pulmonary groups. He was also a member of the Spurwink Rod and Gun Club and the N.R.A. George found great joy in spending time with his family and friends and was very much loved by all that met him. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rae (LaPointe) Robertson of Westbrook; a brother David Robertson and his wife Leanne of Limerick; and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday, Dec. 30, at Blais & Hay funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. Interment will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook.
