Obituary

Parsonsfield – George A. Curit, Sr., 70, died on March 7, 2016, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born in Portland, on September 12, 1945, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Arsenault) Butterfield. George attended schools in Windham and South San Francisco, CA. After school, he worked for two years for Vets Moving Company, before joining the United States Marine Corp. George proudly served his country by serving two tours in Vietnam, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He returned home to California, and operated an appliance repair company, George's Appliance Company. In the 1970's he moved back to Maine and worked for W.T. Grant as their appliance repairman traveling throughout, ME. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. George is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; son, George A. Curit, Jr.; daughters, Sharon, Tammy and Kelly; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Jack and Corbin; and sister Gloria. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his granddaughter Blake. There are no services at this time.
