Obituary

CUMBERLAND—Gary R. Lombard, 63, died on August 5, 2017. He was a born in Bridgton on August 21, 1953, to parents Lawrence and Dorothy (Rand) Lombard. Gary grew up in Raymond, graduating from Windham High School in the class of 1971. Following graduation, Gary enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He held a variety of jobs throughout his life working for several companies in the greater Portland and Bangor areas. While living in Davis Estates in Machias, Gary met and married Jean Gaudette; they were a perfect match and complimented each other greatly. They also shared similar interests as avid readers, Gary immersed himself in literature and had a passion for reading. Some of his favorite pastimes include ice fishing, playing cards with his family, and attending all of the Maine state fairs, especially Woodsmen's Day at the Fryeburg Fair. He is survived by his wife, Jean Lombard of Yarmouth; siblings, Brad Lombard and his wife Susan, Larry Lombard and his wife Linda, and John Lombard and his wife Linda; a sister in law, Penny Lombard; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his twin brother, Barry Lombard. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brentwood Manor for their compassionate care as well as Compassus Hospice. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm at the home of Brad and Susan Lombard's home, 7 Justamere Rd., Falmouth, ME 04105. The family encourages those wishing to honor Gary to bring a story to share. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gary's name may be made to the Jordan Small Middle School Library, 423 Webbs Mills Rd., Raymond, ME 04071.
