Gary Lewis Kearns 1951-2023 Gary Lewis Kearns, 72, of Portland, Maine passed away June 20th after a long battle with kidney disease. He was born in Portland on January 28,1951 to George and Madeline (Malpass) Kearns. He was the oldest of seven children graduating from Arundel High School in Arundel, Maryland in 1970. Gary lived in many states and overseas growing up due to his father's military service. He worked for many years as a supervisor for White Mountain Cable Company until he retired. Some of his fondest memories was golfing with his uncles and fishing off the Maine State Pier with his kids on Sundays. Gary was very active in the AA community in his later years and had many friends. He appreciated that AA provided support for him and many in the program appreciated his willingness to help others. Gary was predeceased by his father George and mother Madeline. He is survived by his children: Stacey Kearns of Florida, Gary Kearns and his fiancé Gina Haydock of Wells, and Ashley (Kearns) Roy and her Husband Bill Roy of Windham. Grand sons: Lane, Hudson, and Grand daughter: Dylan. Siblings: Pamela and her husband Bob Charette of Fort Kent, Patty and her husband Bob Johnson of Buxton, George Kearns Jr. of South Portland, Catherine and husband Roger Jackson of Gorham, Marion Slusser of Westbrook, and John and his wife Pam Kearns of Sanford. Also many nieces and nephews. Per his request there will be no services but if you would like to celebrate his life, do something kind for someone today! In lieu of flowers the family has requested to make a donation to the AA at 47 Portland Street in Portland, Maine.
