Frederick K. Wright Jr., 92, died Wednesday January 18, at St. Joseph's Manor. He was born November 27, 1924, in Portland the son of Frederick Sr. and Helen (Smith) Wright. Fred grew up in Portland and attended local schools graduating from Deering High School in 1945. He was a World War II Veteran, Member of the Windham VFW Post #10643 and Deering Lodge #183 A.F. & A.M. Fred retired from S.D. Warren in 1984 after over 35 years of service. Following retirement, he was very instrumental in forming ALPHA One for the disabled, and also worked at the Windham Hannaford. He was avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. Fred will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Janet (Lefebvre) Wright; children, Patricia Smith and her partner Don Villacci of New Gloucester, William Wright and his wife Kathy of Windham, and Michael Wright and his wife Rebecca of Ellsworth; step children, Angela Nunley and her partner Monica Willis of Davenport, FL, John Nunley and his wife Stacy of Gray, and Debra Small and her husband Michael of Yarmouth; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held from 5:00PM – 7:00PM Tuesday January 24th followed by a memorial service at 7:00PM, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel 434 River Road, Windham. Interment will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 10am at Mayberry Cemetery, Windham.
