Gorham – Frederick "Buddy" Franklin Green, 86, died on July 25, 2016, at his home. He was born in Scarborough, on July 19, 1930, the son of George and Lucy (Adams) Green. Buddy grew up in Scarborough and Portland and attended local schools. In 1949, he joined the United States Army, and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, stationed mainly at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina. He was honorably discharged in 1952, and shortly afterward, Buddy met Patricia, and the two were married on August 29, 1953. Together, they raised their three daughters. Buddy started working as a truck driver for Congdon Transportation and Sanborn's Motor Express, where he retired from in 1991. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, lobster-ing with a friend, and watching car races, having co-owned a car that raced at both Beech Ridge and Oxford. Buddy was also skilled at making elaborate doll houses, and even the furniture to go in them. Above all, Buddy, loved his family, spending time with them, and taking road trips to visit them. He was a great dad, and an even better grandfather, playing games and taking his grandchildren for rides on the three wheeler. He also held a special place in his heart for his corgi, Casey, who he loving referred to as his "little boy in a fur coat". Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Patricia; daughters, Sherry Russo and husband Peter of Gorham, Debra Webb of Gorham, and Kelly Foss and husband Dallas of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Stacey Jensen of Westbrook, Timothy Russo, Stephen Webb, Benjamin Webb all of Gorham, Kaitlyn Terranova of Zephyrhills, FL, and Christopher Foss of Riverview, FL; great grandchildren, David A. and Adrianna Russo, Alexis and Noah Jensen, Dakota, Austin and Hannah Webb, and Carmelo "Charlie" Terranova; brothers, Donald Green of Gorham, and Wendell Green of South Portland; and sister Marilyn "Mitzi" Wellington of South Portland. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his grandson, David F. Russo; and seven siblings. Services for Buddy will be private.
