Portland Franklin I. Clinch Jr., 84, died Thursday January 24, 2018, at Seaside Rehabilitation. He was born November 24, 1934 in Gorham a son of Franklin Clinch Sr. and Dorothy Harris. Franklin grew up in Cumberland and Gorham and attended local schools. He was a sports enthusiast that also enjoyed wood carving and history. He and June were longtime members of Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, where they also taught Sunday school. Frank was a proud member of the Freemasons. He retired after more than 30 years of service at H. P. Hood and Sons. After retirement, hw spent many years living in Florida with his wife June. In addition to his parents Franklin was predeceased by his loving wife June (Parker) Clinch; and his sister Rita Drew. He is survived by his children Valerie Biggs of Windham and Scott Clinch and his wife Pamela of Windham; brother Terry Clinch of Nebraska; sisters, Jacquie Copeland and Donalene Fox both of Florida; and grandchildren, Simone, Thomas, and Steven Biggs, and Kayleigh and Abigail Clinch. A funeral service will be held at 6:00PM Friday February 1, at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham. An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service. Burial will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Gorham.
