Frances Winther Webb, 93, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Barron Center in Portland. She was born and raised in Westbrook, the daughter of Christian and Christina (Winther) Nielsen. When she was younger she worked for a short time at the S. D. Warren Paper Co., McClellan's Department Store, and at Haven's Candy. Frances was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook where she was active in the Ladies Aid Club. She was also a member of the Westbrook Women's Club and Garden Club. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert G. Webb, and a brother Irving Nielsen. Frances is survived by a son Bob Webb and his wife Sandy of Portland; two daughters, Sonja J. and her husband Richard Bernier of Westbrook and Susan J. and her husband Stephen Cullinan of Westbrook; four grandchildren, Mark and his wife Julie Bernier, Craig Bernier, Derek and his wife Janet Webb, and Matthew Webb; and six great grandchildren, Spencer Bernier, Janelle Bernier, Emma Bernier, Sam Bernier, Josh Hunnewell, and Jake Hunnewell; and a sister-in-law Marie Larsen. The family would especially like to thank the angels at the Barron Center who provided loving and compassionate care to our Mom during her stay. Words cannot express our gratitude. Per her wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be this Spring in Woodlawn Cemetery.
