FALMOUTH - Frances "Fran" Eva Hoffman, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at a Falmouth nursing home. Frances was born in Portland on May 21, 1943, daughter of James Henry and Inez (Libby) Morrell of Windham. Frances was raised in Windham and graduated from Windham High School in 1961. She held jobs at Sebago Moc, Foden's, L.L. Bean, McCrorys and HP Hood where she met her husband, John W. Hoffman of Portland. They were married for 38 years until his passing. Frances was devoted to creating a home for her family and enjoyed being able to be a stay-at-home mom. When she wasn't spending time with friends and family she enjoyed her flower gardens, baking, knitting and found comfort in watching the birds outside her window. Those who knew her were blessed and will remember her for the engaging, loving, funny and selfless woman who put others before herself. Frances will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly. Be at peace now and rest comfortably. Frances was predeceased by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughters, Heidi D. Hoffman of Gray, and Allison L. Hoffman of Michigan; granddaughter, Fawn A. Hoffman; grandson, Bradley Downes; great-granddaughter, Zoey N. Malcolm; sister; Elaine Eschholz and family of Brunswick; and brother, Jim Morrell and family of Florida.
