PORTLAND—Frances E. Bowden, 75, died January 9, 2018 at Seaside Healthcare where she was a resident for the last 10 years. Frannie was born in Westfield, Massachusetts, a daughter of Walter and Frances (Gustin) Chandler. She grew up in the greater Portland area and graduated high school. She was employed at Sebago Moccasin Shoe Shop in Westbrook for many years and was married to George Bowden until his passing in 1999. Frannie was a familiar face at Seaside and was often seen waving at the cars driving down Baxter Boulevard. She was a huge fan of music artist Jose Duddy, who frequently performed at Seaside. Frannie was a social butterfly who enjoyed getting to know the staff and will be fondly remembered assisting other residents. She will be dearly missed by her "Seaside family", particularly the Wing 2 staff and the DePeters. Per Frannies request, there will be no services.
