Westbrook – Floella M. Kennie, 77, died on May 26, 2016 at her home, with her family by her side. She was born in Westbrook, on October 31, 1938, the daughter of John and Anne (Small) Maxwell. Flo grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1957. Just a few weeks after graduation, she married Henry Kennie, and together they raised their two children. She was a member of the Little Falls Baptist Church, where she was recently named a Deacon Emeritus, and was also involved in their Ladies Fellowship. Flo knew the importance of family, and enjoyed simply spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as "Meme". Flo loved the beach and laying out in the sun. Her favorite vacations were to Myrtle Beach, and her special vacations she took to Florida with her best friends Vicki and Preston. Flo is survived by her son, John Kennie and wife Susan of Old Orchard Beach; daughter, Lisa Crosby and husband Mike of Westbrook; grandchildren, Meaghan and husband Junior, Justin, Joshua, Josh, Scott, Jacob, and Henry; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Maddox, and Payten; sister, Beatrice Strout; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Flo was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Henry; and brothers, Raymond and George. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 31, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. A funeral service will be at 10 am, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Little Falls Baptist Church, 746 Gray Rd., Gorham. Burial will follow to Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. After the burial all are invited to a reception back at Little Falls Baptist Church.
