SANFORD—Faye A. Graham, 81, of Sanford, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford. She was born on December 1, 1934, a daughter of Lawrence R. and Clara P. (Plummer) Allen. Faye grew up in Windham and attended Windham High School and was a member of the class of 1953. She spent her younger years as a homemaker, raising her family on the dairy farm. On June 2, 1972, she married Luther Graham and together they made their home in Sanford. Faye was a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting afghans for her family. She was an active member of Trafton Senior Center in Sanford where she was president of the craft club. She was a hard working Mainer who participated in many clubs and traditions over the years such as 4-H, the Grange Hall and the Brass Knob Star Club. Faye and Luther enjoyed camping in their RV together all over the state of Maine and she was a past president of the National Campers and Hikers Association as well as field directors and assistant state directors in Maine and New Hampshire. Faye will be remembered for her great sense of humor, honesty, and positive outlook on life. She is survived by her husband, Luther Graham of Sanford; children, Charles Hall and his wife Debra of Windham, Richard Hall of Livermore, Wanda Hall and her husband, Paul of Upton, and Leslie Hall and his wife Carolyn of Windham; step-children, Katherine Graham of Scarborough, and Lauren Flaherty of Portland; a sister in law, Florence Allen of Windham, and a brother in law, Tom Joyce of Windham; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Allen Jr., and a sister, Sue Joyce. A public memorial graveside service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Faye's name may be made to Animal Refuge of Greater Portland, PO Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098.
