Obituary

Everett Gerald Smyth, 86, of Westbrook, passed away Tuesday, June 07, 2016 at the VA Hospice at Togus. He was born in Westbrook, the son of James and Annie (Morrow) Smyth. He graduated from Westbrook High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Everett worked at S.D. Warren Paper Co. for 42 years before retiring. He was a member of Westbrook Warren church and the American Legion, Post 62.  He built and flew radio controlled planes and was a member of the Prop Snappers Club.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Everett was predeceased by a brother Wallace Smyth. He is survived by his wife Alma Smyth, his children Kathleen Robben of Westbrook, Rick and wife Denise Smyth of Standish, Bruce and wife Jocelyn Smyth of Hollis, NH and Timothy Smyth MD of Jonesborough, TN, as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 9 AM Saturday, June 11, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook. Online condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
