WINDHAM— Evelyn A. Young, 68, of Windham, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the sunshine of our lives, always there for her husband and children. Evelyn or "Evie" was born in Portland, Maine on February 23, 1948, a daughter of Allie and Lillian (Moon) Reynolds. Evelyn had three beautiful daughters, Karen and her husband Ron, Kimberly and her husband Pete, and Krystal. She met John A. Young Sr. in 1973, and were together for three years before they were married. John had four sons, John Jr., Joseph, Jeffrey, and James. Evie and John blended their families together and had a son, Kevin and his wife Marcy. Her family was the most important joy in her life. She was employed for 21 years at Parker Nichols as a machine operator, making gerotors and received a plaque of accomplishment, recognizing her commitment to the business. Evie loved being outside and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting mowing her lawn, and camping off and on for five weeks a year at Bayview Campground. She also enjoyed cooking and shopping. She is survived by her beloved husband and children mentioned above; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister in law, Marilee Merritt and her family; and beloved niece and nephew Tina and Kasey; and her devoted pets, Pepper and Foxy Lady. A private graveside service will be held in the spring. To express condolences or participate in Evie's online tribute, please visit www.dolbyfuneralchapels.com.
