Ethan Mondor, 23, of Portland, Maine, died January 3, 2023. Born in Waterville, Maine he spent his early years in the foster care system. On May 16, 2004 Ethan joined Rodney Mondor and Raymond Dumont and created a family. This day was always celebrated as "Family Forever Day." As a young child, Ethan had a smile and a laugh that just lit up any room. His energy was non-stop and he had no fear and always willing to try something. Growing up, Ethan participated in Portland Area Youth Soccer (PAYSA) and played for the Lady of Hope basketball team. He played hard and had such grace as an athlete. To watch him play just left you in awe sometimes. His competitive spirit was never in doubt and one of the fondest memories for his dad as his coach. Though Ethan struggled throughout his teenage years and till now, he was such a caring soul. Ethan was always willing to help his friends. There are many stories of how Ethan helped others in distress. He was loyal and caring to his friends and will be missed. As a son, grandson, cousin, nephew, and dad, Ethan brought so much joy and though there were struggles, he will always be our little nugget or "Fred." Ethan, you will be missed and loved by so many. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Mondor Memorial Scholarship to continue his name and his caring spirit. The scholarship will be available to students at the University of Southern Maine, who shared the same struggles and caring spirit like Ethan.
