Westbrook- Ernest J. Dugas, 93, died on February 13, 2018 at the Barron Center in Portland. He was born March 27, 1924 in Westbrook, the son of Stanley and Alice Cote Dugas. He enjoyed 71 years of marriage with his wife Frances Harnois Dugas. Together they raised six children. He was always a dedicated family man who worked hard to insure the success and happiness of all his children. His early career found him working as a clerk at the original Men's Shop clothing store, and also as a part time oil delivery person for Harnois Oil Company, and ultimately as a career fulltime Paper Maker with the S. D. Warren Company. He enjoyed playing penny card games, family outings at Deep Cove Shores in Raymond and many fun trips with a close circle of friends he and Frannie were associated with. All his life he was a communicant of St. Mary's Church on Main Street, which later merged to be part of St. Anthony's Parish in Westbrook. Ernest's family wishes to thank the staff of The Inn at Village Square and the Barron Center for the wonderful care and support they provided to him and his family. Ernest was predeceased by his two brothers, Onisome, and Leanord Dugas, his sister Alberta Seaver, his granddaughter Erica Wark, son in law Richard Butterfield. Besides his wife Frances, he is survived by his three daughters, Nancy (Roger) Barr, Pamela Wark, and Ann Butterfield, his three sons, Gregory (Pamela) Dugas, Richard (Leona) Dugas, and Eric (Junie) Dugas, his 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Freddie, and Eugene, both currently living in Florida. Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation on Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 10:00- 11:00 AM at Dolby, Blais & Segee, Westbrook Chapel, 35 Church St. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Hyacinth Cemetery, in Westbrook.
