Elsie Michel, 90, of Portland, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Manor. She was born in Millinocket, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Smart. Elsie was married to Roland Michel Sr., who passed away in 1994. She enjoyed music, dancing, and doing puzzles and word search. Elsie loved her church and the Lord, and was always able to make people smile. Besides her husband she was predeceased by two sons, Arthur and Michael. She is survived by her sons Roland Michel Jr. of Gastonia, NC, Donald Michel and his wife Mary of Westbrook, and Ronald Michel of Bangor; her daughters Sandra Pettengil and husband Larry of Buxton, Brenda O'Brien of Portland, Linda Tracy of Portland, and Patricia Tibbetts of Portland; a brother Edward Smart of Val Paraiso, IN; ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday, Dec. 4, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A Memorial Service will be held at 9 AM Saturday at the Harvest Bible Chapel in Westbrook.
