Elizabeth Hicks (Betty) - 86 of Gorham, Maine passed away peacefully with family members at her side on Saturday December 6, 2025, best known as Betty, she was born August 4th, 1939, in Portland Maine. She was the daughter of Medas and Mildred Jemery. She Graduated from Gorham High school and went to work at the local dollar store and progressed to working at the local town bank as a teller until she changed professions after meeting the love of her life Roy Hicks and becoming a homemaker and mother. They were married on Nov 4, 1961, and spent 61 years together before Roy's passing just 2 short years ago. Betty was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Betty is survived by her two children, daughter, Lisa Toderico and husband Tom Toderico, along with their two young men Scott, and Shawn Toderico, and her son, Michael Hicks and wife Lisa Hicks, and their young ladies Heather Hicks, and Kayla Hicks, and 1 great grandson Brayden Hicks. Betty knew what she wanted in life, and no one would change her mind right up to the day she said goodbye. Stubborn yes- tough as nails yes – willing to compromise maybe! She was the definition of it's my way or the highway right to the day she passed, but we all knew that - especially when all 4 feet 7 inches of her would tell a 6-foot Roy what they were going to do or where they were going out to eat! She had a heart of gold and a comedic side everyone always got a kick out of. Her humor was always a comebacker from out of nowhere that made everyone laugh. Betty's love for animals was second to none, she along with Roy had numerous cats and dogs throughout the years, Family often commented that she probably paid for the new addition on the veterinary clinic from all the animal visits. She loved every pet equally and, in the end, Molly, her final pup, was with her during her passing hour. This is why she wished any donation would be made to the animal refuge league in Westbrook in her name. Visiting hours are scheduled for Saturday Dec 13th from 1-3 pm at Dolby, Blais and Segee 434 River Road, Windham.
