IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Joan
Finocchietti
May 27, 1943 – January 5, 2026
Elizabeth (Liz) Joan Finocchietti, 82, passed away at her home on January 05, 2026. Heaven has a new angel. She was born in Portland on May 27, 1943, the daughter of Edward and Thelma McCurdy. Liz grew up in Portland and graduated from Portland High School in 1961.
Liz met Joseph Finocchietti and they married in 1966. They made their home in Falmouth, where they raise their two children. Liz worked at Kings Fish and Chips, Zayre, Ames, Walmart and Falmouth Middle School Caféteria, where she retired.
Mom enjoyed life and was always smiling and willing to help out. She was always at every celebration and event. She liked watching the birds out her window. She liked Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, cats, and she loved scratching the crossword lottery tickets. She enjoyed being with her grandkids, family and friends. She loved Christmas and Birthdays and would always look for that special gift and wrap it meticulously with a bow. She would pick up Matthew from school and they would grab a snack or lunch. Mom and Matt would go to Angelone’s Pizza after school and feed the crust to the birds in the park. Mom loved it when her sister would spend the night and they would go shopping, get their hair done and go out to eat. She enjoyed going out to eat and going to craft fairs with her friends. Mom, Emma, Matthew and Hannah would go out to Longhorn and have their special time together. She looked forward to going grocery shopping and running errands every week with Mike after they picked Matt up from school. She would always ask, what are we buying and cooking this week. Liz loved seeing the Daffodils and Lilacs bloom and would always walk down back to check out her Rhubarb in the Spring.
Liz is survived by her son Michael Finocchietti of Falmouth, daughter Karen and her husband Daniel Casale of Windham, their children Hannah, Emma and Matthew, her sister Beverly and husband Ronald Burgess of Monmouth, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Our hearts are broken and she will be GREATLY missed. Liz’s family extends their deepest gratitude for all the family love and support received in order to bring her home. Terri, Karita and Kim, we could not have done it without you. We would like to thank the MMC Staff, and Falmouth EMS.
A graveside service and celebration of life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hart of Maine, 302 Range Road Cumberland, ME 04021 or Nationalbreastcancer.org.
