Portland - Eleanor Morse, 88, of Gorham, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014. She passed peacefully after a prolonged stay at Biddeford Estates and Evergreen Manor. She was a special and loving person who will be missed by her large extended family. Eleanor was born in Portland on March 13, 1925, daughter of Baden and Nellie Fletcher. She was an alumni of Cathedral High School class of 1943. She worked for thirty years and retired from American Can Company. She loved her extended family that included her five children, Colleen, Kathleen, Patrick, James and Janie, her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers, a sister. Penny Miliken of Topsham is her lone surviving sibling. She loved to read, was an unrecognized expert on the lineage of the Kings and Queens of England, loved to travel, especially on cruise ships, as they reminded her of her families maritime heritage. She loved life and when things went awry was often heard to say, "C'est la vie and all that happy jazz." She was a special and loving person who always found her happy place.
