Elaine Chapman, 81, of Gorham Maine passed away on November 25, 2022 after a short stay at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was born in Portland Maine, the daughter or Myrtle and Everett Pedley. Elaine worked at Deering Ice Cream, and the Court house before finding a job that she loved with the Gorham School Department where she retired after many years. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 197 in Westbrook. She enjoyed traveling to California to visit her cousin. Elaine loved her late husband Bradford Chapman. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbor Ben Blood and family, mechanic Chris Poirier, and her cats. Elaine was predeceased by her parents Myrtle and Everett Pedley and the love of her life, her husband, Bradford Chapman. She is survived by her son Terry Brown of Saco; brother Tommy Pedley and wife Carol of Standish; granddaughter Amanda Mclaskey and husband Jon of Westbrook; great grandchildren Jonathan, Nathan, Ava, and Alivia of Westbrook; Cousins Barbara Williams of Hornbrook CA, Marilyn Andreasen of Falmouth, Delores Davis of Lyman, and Susan Andreasen of Falmouth. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Gorham.
