Gorham Eileen "Polly" Sally White, 73, died Friday September 23, 2016 at the Gorham House. She was born August 2, 1943, in Portland a daughter of Everett F. and Sarah B. White. Polly grew up in Scarborough and was a 1962 graduate of Scarborough High School. She was a graduate of the Maine Medical School of Nursing and enjoyed a career working in Portland and New Hampshire Hospitals and providing private nursing care. Polly will be remembered as being very a detail orientated person with a great sense of humor. She loved all forms of needle work, reading, journaling, and cats. In addition to her parents Polly was predeceased by three sisters, Mary A. Nevers, Margaret "Betty" E. Young, and Pricilla "Janie" J. White. She is survived by two sisters, Helen "Dottie" Doris Mallory of Lake Wales, FL, and Carolyn A. Spicer, of Lake Wales, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews. Polly's family would like to thank the Gorham House and Beacon Hospice for their care and support during Polly's illness. A graveside service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday September 28, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
