Obituary

Westbrook, E. Margaret Lowell, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 01, 2012 at home after a courageous battle with lupus and lung cancer. She was born in Westbrook, ME on Sept. 7, 1932, daughter of James and Edith Kennie.  She was the youngest daughter of seven children. She attended Westbrook schools and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1950.  Margaret remained close with many of her classmates especially through planning class reunions. On November 18, 1950 she married the love of her life Donald E. Lowell.  Together they had three children, Donna, Donald Jr., and Diane.  As a family they enjoyed sailing, camping and entertaining. Margaret had various jobs including Priest's Variety Store, Woolworth's 5 & 10, Rines Bros., S.D. Warren, Sebago Moc, Stanley Home Products, Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, Fred DeWaters Plumbing, Waning & Son, MBI Security. Margaret's door was always open to family and friends.  She remembered and treasured those she loved by sending cards. She is survived by her three children, Donna E. Zupco and husband David, Donald E. Lowell Jr. and wife Mary, and Diane E. Wescott and husband Wayne; her seven granddaughters, Erica Harris, Sara Britton, Amy Van Durme, Rachel Toppi, Hannah Zupco, Marcia Wescott, and Michaela Zupco; two step granddaughters, Christine Sheetz and Cynthia Zupco; five great grandchildren, Trevor, Cobey, Sephira, Caesanina, and Arabella; one brother Norman f. Kennie and wife Carol, w3ho Margaret considered a sister; she is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. A celebration of life service will be held at Westbrook Warren Congrtegational Church on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Margaret's memory to Hospice of Southern Maine,  180 U.S. Rt. 1 Scarborough, ME. 04074
