WESTBROOK — Dorothy Theresa Kenney, 96, a lifelong resident of Westbrook, passed away peacefully on March 17 while in hospice care provided by Compassus Hospice at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco. Dot was born in Westbrook on Jan. 27, 1929, the daughter of Raymond G. King Sr. and Veronica M. (Pomerleau) King. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1947 before working several years in the central office at S.D. Warren Company. She married Albert Kenney on Jan. 6, 1951, and they celebrated 68 years of marriage until his passing in June 2019. Family was very important to Dot, and she always enjoyed welcoming family and friends into their home for good times, good food and good companionship. In addition to her parents, Dot was predeceased by her brother, Raymond G. King Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Briggs, of Westbrook; grandchildren Chaz Briggs (fiancée Brittany Heckman) of Buxton and Christina Briggs (fiancé Eric McCabe) of Buxton; sister Susan Smyth (Robert) of Gorham; sister-in-law Susan King of Scarborough; along with several nieces and nephews.
