WESTBROOK—Dorothy Ella Harriman, 81, passed away unexpectedly at her home with her husband and children at her side on December 15, 2018. She was born on February 16, 1937, a daughter of Clarence and Nellie (Gurney) Nay. Dot married her high school sweetheart, John Harriman on February 16, 1954. In the early 60's they moved to Westbrook where they raised their family and made their home. Dot held a variety of positions including department manager at Bradlees Department store; receptionist at Dr. Donald Yorkey's office, as well as Customer service at Irving Oil and Suburban Propane. "Mimi Dot" loved spending time with her family and was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being social, playing bingo and going to the casino were some of her favorite pastimes, along with traveling with her husband and friends. She loved getting together with her family and many friends for cookouts and special gatherings at her home in Westbrook. Dot was an avid supporter of the Kora Shriners. She loved all of her many dogs over the years and also liked to spend her free time crocheting, knitting, and playing on the computer. Dot was truly the matriarch of her family, and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Harriman of Westbrook; children Barbara Gaudreau and her husband Stephen of Harrison, Steven Harriman and his wife Rose of Westbrook, Ronald Harriman and his wife, Karen of Parsonsfield, and Deborah Rollins and her husband, Stephen of Old Orchard Beach; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Step-Mother Dorothy Rich Nay, and a brother Glenn Gurney. A celebration of life will be held on date and time to be announced.
