South Portland-   Dorothea M. (Cash) Blanchard 90, a lifelong resident of South Portland, passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 at Maine Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in South Portland, the daughter of Lawrence and Eleanor ( Wallace ) Cash. Dorothea had a long career in the hospitality business before her retirement at age 78. She enjoyed Willard Beach, Bingo, and attending church dinners with her many friends. She was a collector of frog and lighthouse ornaments, as well as an avid Red Sox fan. She loved sleepovers with her grandchildren and special trips to the Dairy Queen. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Blanchard and her son Robert L. Blanchard. She is survived by 3 sons; Maurice Blanchard and wife Cheryl of Raymond, Richard Blanchard and wife Tena of Westbrook, and Michael Blanchard of Florida. She is also survived by daughter in law Nancy Blanchard of Windham, as well as her loving grandchildren: Joshua, Michelle, Jaime, Micayla, Christie, Tahnee, Elizabeth and Tashina. Also surviving is her sister and best friend Renee  DePrez of South Portland and sister Joyce Brackett of Mexico. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday December 3rd followed by a celebration of life beginning at 10am at First Parish Church, 425 Congress St.  Portland, ME.  Online condolences can be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com
