Windham - Doris (Dottie) S. Hansen went home to be with the lord on February 15, 2024, with her loving family by her side. A family that adored her all 97 years. The daughter of Ernest H. Smart and Marion Strout Smart, born August 15, 1926. She was a direct descendant of the first settlers of Portland and Peaks Island. Doris attended Gorham Schools and was a member of the class of 1944. She was the second oldest of 4 siblings who are all deceased. Doris was married for 44 years to Philip A. Hansen who passed away in June 1991. Doris worked in the accounting office of Porteous, Mitchelle & Braun. She worked as a clerk of the Westbrook Municipal Court where she retired. She worked for 20 years as Materials Manager at Westbrook Community Hospital. She loved being a grandmother, researching genealogy, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and most of all being with her family. Doris was a former member of Woman of Roary of Portland, Wesbrook Woman's Club and Pas President of Westbrook Community Hospital Auxiliary. Doris went above and beyond for her Westbrook community, Philip and Doris would open their home on Christmas and Thanksgiving for all police officers "who were working the beat" to take a break and enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal prepared by Doris. She was an amazing cook. She is survived by her daughter Victoria Hansen Swan and her husband Rick, her two grandchildren, Whitney Swan Earle and her husband Andrew. Payson Swan and her husband Colin. Four great grandchildren Alyvia and Jacob Earle and Elle and Kitt Swan. She will be missed by all, and especially missed by Rick, who took her out for car rides to Dunkin Donuts for a Carmel Iced Coffee and a Chocolate donut. A graveside service will be held on July 1, 2024, at 10:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery, Stroudwater Street, Westbrook, ME.
