Doris Arlene (Worden) Bevan died peacefully on January 15, 2024 at the age of 93 from a heart attack. She was born on September 3, 1930 to Charles and Delphine (Blanchard) Worden in Dexter, Maine. Doris was the youngest and only daughter. She grew up with three older brothers. In high school people called her Arlene and she was the Winter Carnival Queen. She attended Monson Academy, and fondly remembered reading the honor's speech on her graduation day in 1948. Doris was a skilled seamstress and made beautiful gowns for family weddings and meticulously knit Icelandic sweaters for everyone in her family. She loved gardening, canning, bowling, crossword puzzles and cherished old memories and her community of faith. Doris is survived by her children; Rose (York) Duran, and her husband, John, Fay (York) Greenlaw, and her husband, Burton, George York, and his fiancé Doris Comeau; step daughter Lollie (Bevan) Nordquist, and her husband Harold; stepsons, Merril Bevan Jr, and his wife, Jan, Richard Bevan, and his wife Angela; neice, Jane Worden; nephew, Lawrence Worden. She is also survived by her beautiful granddaughters, great granddaughters and great great granddaughters and her handsome grandsons great grandson and great great grandsons. She is predeceased by her husband, Merrill Bradleigh Bevan; brothers, Lawrence, Leonard, and Albert Worden and their parents. There will be a funeral service at Dolby, Blais, Segee Funeral Home 434 River Road, Windham on January 23, 2024 at 11:00am.
