Windham/Naples, FL - Donna (Patch) Cummings, 75 found her peace on May 5, 2016 after enduring a five year battle with stage IV lung cancer. She was born on her father's birthday March 13, 1941, to Gerald D. Patch and Margaret "Louise" Patch in Portland. Donna graduated from Deering High School in 1959. She frequently shared memories of working alongside of her parents at Patches Store in Portland preparing Italian sandwiches. Her memories and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family: Her sons: Orman F. Cummings III and his wife Felicia, grandchildren Orman F. Cummings IV, his wife Jessica, great-grandchildren Deja and Orman F. Cummings V, Orry Cummings, Kelsey Raftery, and her husband Aaron; David Cummings, his wife Kandi and granddaughter Toni Proctor and her husband Eric; Geoffrey Cummings and his wife Elaine, grandchildren Sean Boivin and his wife Bethany, Janelle Cummings and her fiancée Mike and Colby Cummings and great-grandson Eli; and her loving daughters: Courtney Tufts, her husband Lance, granddaughter Amber Tufts, and great-grandchildren Emily and Austin; Casey Reynolds and her husband Todd. On Mother's Day, we would like to thank our mom for providing such a loving home, where everyone was welcome. She was happiest surrounded by friends and family, cooking and entertaining. Many will miss her delicious potato salad. Mom was fun-loving, easy-going, and people gravitated to her open-heartedness. Donna loved being anywhere near the water. For the past 28 years, she was fortunate to spend her winters in Naples Florida, steps from a beautiful white beach watching the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico with her partner Jacques Mondor. They spent the summers together in the Canadian Laurentians on Lac Masson. We all share memories of relaxing days, cozy nights by the fire, and two hour movies that lasted six. She was predeceased by her parents, brother David G. Patch, baby daughter Kelly, and baby granddaughter Haley. Donna was deeply impacted by the passing of her ex-husband and father of her children Orman F. Cummings Jr., in addition to many precious lifelong friends. Donna requested a private celebration of remembrance with her family. Thank you to everyone that holds our mom dear to their heart.
