Westbrook – Donald H. Trefethen Jr., 58, of Lyman St., passed away Wednesday Sept. 26 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Portland, the son of Donald H. and Leona Brown Trefethen. He was raised and educated in Westbrook and was a 1972 graduate of Westbrook High School. Don had been employed by the S. D. Warren Co. for 33 years. He also owned and operated his own construction business. He loved to play golf and enjoyed playing in the weekly M.S.G.A. tournaments. He is survived by his wife Margaret Pallang Trefethen, 2 sons Heath Ryan and Kyle Alexander Trefethen, a daughter Shaunnalea Marie Trefethen all of Westbrook, 2 brothers David Trefethen of Windham, Jeffrey Trefethen of Westbrook, 2 sisters Leanne and husband Bob Flood and Jill Trefethen both of Westbrook. 2 grandchildren Kaden and Kynzlea Trefethen and his 4 puppies that he loved Blade, Dezie, Bubbie and Gus. At his request there will be no Funeral Services. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. Don's family would especially like to thank his best friend Greg Waite and all of his friends from S.D.Warren for all of their care, support and kindness, that was given to Don, during his illness.
