GORHAM- Donald H. Hemphill Sr., 86, passed away July 8, 2018 at Maine Medical Center. He was born July 29, 1931 in Houlton, ME to Burns and Irene (McGann) Hemphill. Donald attended Ricker College in Houlton before continuing his education at the Maine Teachers College in Gorham. He was a veteran of the Air Force and served from July 1952 to July 1956. He earned the Occupational Medal in Germany as well as the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct medal while he was in service. He married his wife, Nora on June 2, 1962. Along with his parents, Donald is predeceased by two brothers; Olin Hemphill and Philip Hemphill. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nora (Sullivan) Hemphill, two daughters; Deirdre Clark and her husband, Christopher, and Mary Hemphill, one son; Donald Hemphill Jr. and his wife, Christine, two grandchildren; Madeline Clark, Nicholas Clark and his wife, Emily, two brothers; Francis Hemphill and his wife, Jessie, Paul Hemphill and his wife, Ann Marie and family, one sister; Doris Gagnon and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00AM Friday, July 13, at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 268 Brown St. Westbrook. A private interment will follow at St., Hyacinth Cemetery, Stroudwater St., Westbrook.
