O B I T U A R Y Dominic John Fiato, Jr. Dominic John Fiato Jr., age 67 passed away suddenly, Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at his home. Dom was born September 24, 1955 to Dominic J. Fiato Sr. and Betty Ann (Doherty) Fiato in Portland, Maine. He attended Scarborough public schools and graduated High School. He met his wife Monica in 2008 and they made their home in Windham, Maine. Dom worked for the Gabriel Electronic Company, traveling the United States repairing communications towers for several years after graduation from Scarborough High School. Later he went to work for Pine State Elevator as an Elevator Mechanic, building and repairing elevators throughout the state of Maine for more than 30 years, retiring in 2009. Dominic and his father were weekend warriors, together each weekend for many years renovating Dom's home in Wesbrook and Dom Sr.'s home on Washington Ave, in Portland. When Dom Sr. passed in 1999, it was an incredible loss for Dom Jr., and his siblings. Dominic loved Fly Fishing and was a master of tying flies for this sport. These flies fill a room! He loved cooking Italian food for his friends and family. Monica and he had Epic barbecues at their home more than a few times each summer. Dominic was predeceased by his sister, Gina Fiato in 1972, Mother, Betty Ann Fiato, in 1990 and Father Dominic J. Fiato Sr., in 1999. Dom is survived by his wife Monica (Anthony) Fiato, three stepsons; Antonio, John and Mark, two stepdaughters; Dominique and Latisha (Domonique) Covington; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, two sisters; Thomasa Fiato and partner Daniel Feeney of Freeport and Brenda Fiato and partner Henry Huntley of Buxton. Dom leaves a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends who will dearly miss him.​ A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 / 11AM at Williams Temple, Church of God in Christ - 274 Terrace Avenue, Portland, ME 04102. Bishop Steve Coleman, Officiating. Anyone attending the Memorial Service is asked to wear a Mask. The burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland at a later date.
