GORHAM - Dennis L. Thibeau, 58, died Saturday August 26, 2017, at Maine Medical Center. He was born August 1, 1959, in Biddeford a son of James A. and Marion L. (Sanborn) Thibeau. Dennis grew up in Biddeford and following his graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country faithfully and honorably for twenty years from 1977 to 1997. Dennis was instrumental on military campaigns such as Grenada and Desert Storm. He served on ships such as the John F. Kennedy, Richard E. Byrd, Simon Lake Lasalle, and various shore commands. Following his retirement Dennis enjoyed working as a carpenter. In addition to his mother Dennis is survived by his siblings, Stephan Fillmore and his wife Peg, Wendy Thibeau, and Kimberly Barnett; a brother in – law Ray Nadeau; long-time friend, Virgil Sargent; nieces and nephews, Lisa Fillmore, Lois Fillmore, Jesse Fillmore, Jen Thibeau, Angela Gendron, Adam Fillmore, Heather Thomasson, Colin Barnett, Chris Barnett, and Kyle Thibeau Rhames. In addition to his father Dennis was predeceased by his siblings Michael Fillmore and Louise Keithly; and his stepfather Robert Ashey. A funeral service will be held 3:00PM Friday September 8, at the Gorham Chapel of Dolby Funeral Chapels 76 State Street, Gorham. An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service.
