OGUNQUIT - Dennis Sayward, 83, passed away December 8th in York Maine. The same town he was born in on July 8th, 1942. Dennis was proud of his roots to York, tracing family there back to the late 1600's. Dennis was a life long resident of Ogunquit. He attended Ogunquit Village School and graduated from Wells High School. Dennis is predeceased by his wife Sharon of 52 years. He is survived by his brother Paul and wife Lorraine of Rochester, NH. His two sons Donnell and Dennis, thier wives Jennifer and Carrie, Grandchildren Samuel, Sydnie, Summer, Charli, Luke, Matthew, and Great Granddaughter Ryland. Dennis started a succesful plumbing business in Ogunquit where you'll still see trucks bearing his name. It is now run by his son Donny. He was able to retire early and he and Sharon became snowbirds. Dennis also enjoyed time "upta camp" in the Forks. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. He was very involved in the local fish and game clubs teaching hunters safety courses and helping run the Ogunquit fishing derby. He shared this passion with his boys who continue his love for the outdoors. No services are planned.
