Dennis Charles
Harmon
Jun 14, 1945 — Jun 18, 2026
Dennis Charles Harmon, 81, of Windham, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 14, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Dennis was the son of the late Louis Harmon and Agnes (McGarry) Harmon.
Dennis graduated from St. Mary’s of Redford High School and went on to attended Ferris State College and Eastern Michigan University. He then proudly served in the United States Army for two years, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.
On June 21, 1969, Dennis married Susan (Huth) Harmon. Together they built a family rooted in love, loyalty, and laughter. After honeymooning in Maine, they made the bold decision to move there full‑time in 1973, a choice that forever shaped the course of their family’s story.
Dennis was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, where his sense of humor was always on full display. In his younger years, he loved snowmobiling in the winter and boating on Sebago Lake in the summer. He rooted passionately for his favorite football teams, the Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. He was also an avid reader who appreciated a good book every bit as much as a good game.
A dedicated and respected sales professional, Dennis spent 20 years with RJ Reynolds Tobacco before continuing his career for another 25 years at Custom Country Floors. His work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail defined his professional life. Along the way, he formed many deep friendships and especially cherished his Friday lunches with the boys.
Dennis was predeceased by his beloved son, Jeffrey Harmon; his sister, Susan Wierimaa; and his brother, Michael Harmon.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan; his son, Matthew Harmon and wife Donna; his daughter‑in‑law, Paige Harmon; and his four cherished grandchildren — Timothy, Laura, Meghan, and Sydney Harmon, who brought him immense pride and joy. It would be impossible to count the number of football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball games that Papa attended over the years in both Maine and New Hampshire.
Dennis will be remembered for his kindness, humor, unwavering love for his family, and the steady, gentle presence he brought to every room. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
The family would like to thank all of Dennis’ lifelong friends from St. Mary’s of Redford H.S. for their unwavering support.
Plans for services are still being made and will be announced soon.
