It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Dennis Joseph Burnham, who left us on June 28, 2026, at the age of 77.

 Born on September 11, 1948, in Portland, Maine, Dennis lived a vibrant life filled with laughter, kindness, and a deep love for his family and friends.

 Dennis was a devoted husband to Patricia Burnham, and together they built a life filled with beautiful memories. He was a proud dry wall mechanic at Morse Drywall, where he made lasting friendships in the construction industry. Dennis attended schools in Portland and carried with him a spirited work ethic that made everyone around him admire his dedication. Known for his warmth and infectious enthusiasm for life, 

Dennis was a member of the Columbia Athletics Club, where he embraced an active lifestyle and shared the joy of camaraderie. He had a passion for adventure, often going for long rides, immersing himself in the soothing melodies of oldies music, and basking in the beauty of the great outdoors while camping. His love for his cats was evident, and their companionship brought him much happiness. While we will deeply miss Dennis, we cherish the moments he gifted us and will carry his loving spirit in our hearts forever. 

Dennis was preceded in death by: His parents Clyde and Mildred Burnham and his 6 siblings, and his grandson Cohen. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Cariann Burnham and partner Andrew. Sons, Andy Calderwood and wife Roland, Joseph D’Andrea, daughters, Pammy Quigley and husband David, Tammy D’Andrea. Grandchildren, Cierra Burnham, Abhilasha Jain, Ethan Calderwood, Ashley Quigley, Gabrielle Pallotta, Alyiah Bennett, Jaianna Quigley, Caitlin and Joseph D’Andrea, Bryson Porter, Elaina D’Andrea and many great grandchildren. Sisters, Claudia Stoddard and Rose Burnham. Brother, Micheal Burnham. Many special nieces and nephews. His 2 favorite cats, Mario, Jenna and grand dog Gemma.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 7th at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Maine. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Dennis’s honor.
