Obituary

WESTBROOK - Denise R. Harvey, 78 of Westbrook passed away at her home peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2018. She was born in Westbrook on May 12, 1940 daughter of Eugene and Jeannette (Labreque) Tanguay. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1958 where she played basketball and was voted class clown. She worked for many years as an office manager in the medical field. She retired at the age of 56 to join her husband Dick so they could begin their retirement years together. Denise enjoyed wintering in Florida, golfing, bowling, and going out to eat with her many dear friends. The greatest joy in Denise's life was her family. She treasured every moment spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her extended family. She looked forward to Christmas so she could do her annual stockings for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The excitement in their faces and the conversations and laughter regarding the gifts was what she cherished the most. She also loved playing games with her friends and family like Hand and Foot, Mexican Train, Scrabble and Tuck Tuck. She was a very competitive player. She will be remembered for her selflessness, positive attitude and unconditional love for everyone she met. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A Harvey and her sister Delores Landry. She is survived by her 4 children, Kathy and her husband Gregg Jones, Rick and his wife Debbie Harvey, Michelle and her husband John Blais, and Marcy and her husband Jim Blais; 10 grandchildren, Steven Jones (wife Erin), Matthew Jones (wife Rachel), Rachel Bryant (husband Brad), Emily Whitmore (husband Michael), Richie and Robbie Harvey, Katie Shangraw(husband Kurt), Joe Blais (wife Erica), Jennifer Radosavljevic (husband Aleks), and Andrew Blais; 9 Great Grandchildren ( 2 more on the way). She is also survived by a brother Eugene Tanguay and his wife Pat, a sister Terri Grant and her husband Hayden; sister in laws, Priscilla Doucette and Judy Green and her husband Mike, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Dolby, Blais & Segee, 35 Church Street, Westbrook. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 at St. Anthony's Parish, 268 Brown Street. Interment will be at a later date.
