Demetra C. Nash, 78, of Windham, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine. She was born and raised in Boston, the daughter of Peter and Martha Chantiles. After several years working at Metcalf and Eddy Engineers, she spent the next twenty years raising her three children and volunteering with Scouts. She worked for several years at Proctor and Gamble and for CNA Insurance before retiring to Maine. She enjoyed bowling, scrabble, crossword puzzles, and dining at her favorite restaurants. She was predeceased by a brother Nikitas Chantiles. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Nash of Windham; a daughter Patricia MacEachern and her husband Jim of Derry, NH; sons George Nash Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Pennington, NJ and Paul Nash and his wife Susan of Ashland, MA; a sister Zoe Chantiles of Braintree, MA; a sister-in-law Voula Chantiles of Sudburry, MA; and seven grandchildren James MacEachern, Abigail, Conor, Luke, Marissa, Derek, and Alexis Nash. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 Main St., Randolph, MA and from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME.
