Delia Nicely, 85, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025. She was born in Portland, Maine, on March 19, 1940. Delia attended Cathedral High School, Class of 1959, where she met her husband, Lee Nicely, through her best friend Ann Nicely Bolling, Lee's sister. They married a week after her graduation, on June 13, 1959. Dee gladly stayed home to raise their five children, also welcoming multiple foster children into their family. She loved animals and rescued many. She ran road races and bike races—even riding to Vermont and back—and she also loved tap dancing, which she enjoyed for many years. After her children started school, Dee worked for Sylvania, Port Bake House, and later Mercy Hospital, where she retired from the admissions department. Dee devoted herself to Jesus Christ, her husband of 66 years, Lee Nicely, and their five children and spouses: Mark Nicely; Matthew and Darcy Nicely; Mitchell and Debbie Nicely; Michelle and Dean Sawyer; and Mellissa and Christian Daniels. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her brother, Donald Green—all of whom will miss her dearly. She had such a fun, beautiful spirit that she shared with everyone she met. Delia was predeceased by her parents, Myles and Mary Green, and her sister, Debbie Green, with whom she is now happily reunited in heaven. We love you, Delia, Dee, Mimi.
