WINDHAM - Deborah Loveitt, 77, died peacefully March 8, 2024, at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born August 5, 1946, in Portland, daughter of the late Robert Jr. & Elaine (Savage) Martel. Debbie graduated from Portland High School. Attended Pierre's School of Beauty. After a few years she opened her own Salon "The Upper Cut". Her business flourished as she loved them and always gave her customers exactly what they wanted. Some of her favorite hobbies included decorating, painting, sewing and cooking as she was always good with hand coordinated activities. When Debbie's parents passed, she became the matriarch of the Martel family and hosted many of the family events. The love of her life, Richard was a wonderful caring husband who was her primary caregiver for the last 5 years as she struggled with COPD. Debbie and Richard raised their grandson, McGyver Poulin from the age of 16 months to adulthood. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Heather Loveitt Poulin; grandson Ryan Eric Loveitt. Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard Loveitt are her daughter Christine Loveitt of Windham and son Victor Eric Loveitt of South Windham; three grandchildren McGyver Poulin, Kayla Loveitt and Sara Loveitt Coppersmith; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Virginia Story of Punta Gorda, FL brother Victor Martel of Punta Gorda, FL and brother Robert Martel of York ME; many nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Maine Medical Center and Gosnell Hospice House for the loving care that Debbie received while there. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 pm Saturday March 23, at Dolby Blais & Segee Funeral Home, 434 River Road Windham Maine 04062.
