Obituary

David L. Thomsen, 53, of Greene, Maine passed away on June 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was born in Portland, Maine on February 14, 1970 to John C. Thomsen and the late Sharon M. Thomsen. David attended Portland Public Schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1988 before attending SMTC where he studied automotive mechanics. He was employed for many years at Lake Region Imports, Kris-Way Truck Leasing, and most recently Maine Custom Woodlands and was a longtime resident of Windham. Dave was known for being a phenomenal Son, Brother, Dad, Stepdad, Papa, Uncle, Friend, and a devoted Husband. David is survived and missed by his loving family, including his beloved wife Nicole (Archambault) Thomsen, daughter Andrea and husband Tom Kierstead, stepson Stephen Spear Jr. and wife Rebecca, sister Deb and husband Glade Taylor, brother Mark Thomsen and wife Pam, and sister Carol and husband Marty Laberge. He was also Papa to his two adored grandchildren, Connor and Levi Spear. His memory will also be cherished by his numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. He will also be deeply missed by the dear friends that became family, Mark and Jennie Johnson. When David wasn't working he enjoyed his family time and life. He loved the Great State of Maine, his home away from home Madeira Beach, Florida, the Red Sox, and the Patriots. Many people will recall Dave cruising for years in his restored 1967 Mustang (cardinal red) with a smile on his face. David was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and hard working. He could be a man of few words, but had a smile that beamed happiness and lit up a room. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them - and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who cared about him and went before him. Until we meet again Dave, keep the top down and the motor running. You will be missed dearly. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at 2PM Monday June 19, at the Windham chapel of Dolby, Blais, & Segee 434 River Road, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.
