David Paul Teague 1954 - 2023 David Teague was born in Roslindale, MA on December 27, 1954 to Robert and Ruth Teague. As a boy, David was fascinated with weather and as a child planned to become a weatherman. He came to know Christ as a youth through the ministries of Billy Graham and others, and subsequently devoted his life to serving God through preaching and teaching the Bible and loving people. David earned a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Gordon College and a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In later years, he completed a Doctorate of Ministry in preaching at Gordon-Conwell. As a student David was active in many ministries including evangelization on the Boston Commons, a prayer group for people behind the Iiron Ccurtain, and evangelization at Hampton Beach. While studying at Gordon College, he met several lifetime friends. He also met Sally Anderson, whom he would marry in June of 1977. They enjoyed 46 years of loving marriage until his death. Their first home was in Dorchester, where they assisted in the planting of a church. After three years, they moved to Hamilton so that Sally could also study at Gordon-Conwell. Their first child, Eva, was born at that time. Soon after the family of three moved to Jordan to study Arabic with the intention of becoming missionaries. Their daughter, Noelle, was born in Jordan. Finally, they went to Egypt, where their son Philip was born. In Egypt, David spent time working with refugees and teaching in the Coptic Orthodox Seminary, but his major effort went towards producing notes for a study Bible for Christians in the Middle East. In 1992, David and his family of five returned to the United States, where David was ordained. He poured himself out, serving as a minister for several churches, and became particularly known for his ability to express deep spiritual truths in clear and simple language. David and Sally remember with special fondness their intercultural ministries at Christ Presbyterian Church and MLK Jr. Community Presbyterian Church of Springfield and at the Amherst Chinese Christian Church. In 2014, David was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and retired from the ministry but continued to support Sally as she taught at Bradford Christian Academy. In 2022, Sally retired and they moved to Maine to be near their daughter, Noelle and her family. They spent one happy year together there. In October 2023, after a brief illness, David entered into the presence of God on October 29, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Sally, and their three children and their families: Eva Teague (Jeff Ellenbogen), Noelle Teague (Anthony Sellner), and Philip Teague, as well as David's sister Sandra Leonard. Throughout his life, David was known for his gentleness and thoughtfulness, his deep insight into other people, and his willingness to accept them as they were. During group discussions, he would often listen carefully as others expressed their opinions at length. Then he would quietly say exactly what needed to be said in a few short sentences.
