BUXTON—David Allen Tapley, 66, of Buxton, died at Mercy Hospital in Portland on June 6. He was born June 5, 1951, a son of Howard and Dorothy (Waterhouse) Tapley. David attended school locally, graduating from Gorham High School in the class of 1970. While in high school, David ran track and started working with his father, uncle and grandfather hauling wood for the family logging business. David then worked for many years at the Westbrook Lanes; a skilled bowler, he won many trophies in his day. In the late 80's David started working as a truck driver for Blue Rock Industries (later known as Pike) where he was employed for many years. In addition to bowling, David enjoyed hunting (especially bow-hunting) and fishing. He will be remembered as an animal lover, and an uncle who loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. David is survived by his siblings, Arthur Tapley, George Tapley and his wife Kathleen, and Donna Anderson and her husband Carl; nieces and nephews, Sabrina and Ben Tapley, Devin Tapley, and Corinna Anderson and Dorothy Ramsey; and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and a baby sister, Elizabeth Tapley. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 10:00 AM at the South Gorham Cemetery on Burnham Rd. in Gorham.
