Steep Falls - David Robert New, 76, passed away after a long fight with cancer at his home surrounded by his family in Steep Falls, Maine. He was born on May 22nd, 1948 in Westpoint, New York. Son of the late Harry J. New and mother Eleanor (Cole) New. He graduated from Gorham State University with a bachelor's degree in education. He was married to his high school sweetheart Ann New (Pellegrino) in which they had two sons. He went on to have a long and successful career as a Branch Manager for Georgia Pacific from which he retired. Dave took great pride in his family being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dave was the happiest when he was with his two sons and grandchildren, where he loved doing many of the things he enjoyed in life whether it be bass fishing on his boat, golfing, sharing his love of music, watching all things with Boston sports, or participating in the many family traditions he came up with for the holidays. The love and devotion he had for his family was second to none and his presence in their life will be sadly missed and irreplaceable. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his younger brother Randy New. Surviving in addition to his wife Ann (Pellegrino) are his oldest son Jason New, his wife Len of Naples, their son Justus, and daughter Hannah & her fiancé Robbie Axelson. Daves youngest son Joshua New and his wife Angie of Texas, their children Jonathan, Abbie, James, and Arabella. Along with his two surviving brothers, Harry New and his partner Katherine and Richard New and his wife Sharon. Along with many nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank the many healthcare providers at New England Cancer in Scarborough as well as Southern Maine Hospice. A celebration of Dave's life with family and friends will be determined at a future date.
