Westbrook – David F. Martin, 74, of Fairmont Rd. died unexpectedly on Sunday Nov. 10, in a Portland hospital. He was born in Westbrook, the son of Francis A. and Cora Curtis Martin. He was raised, educated and resided in Westbrook for most of his life. David served in the U. S. Army and was very proud of his military career. Following his military service, he was employed by the S. D. Warren Co. for 30 + years as a foreman in color room D. David was very active in the American Legion Post 62 for several years and Post 197 for many years. He served as Commander and later Adjutant and bar manager for Post 197 for many years. He enjoyed blue grass music and was very active in the organization called EFFORTS, which served people with COPD, he was a mentor and a speaker for the group. He was also a member of the Pine Tree Rod and Gun club. He was pre deceased by his wife Jane in 2011. He is survived by his domestic companion Jane Graffam, sons Christopher D. Martin and partner Brad Eldridge, Craig S. Martin and wife Ruth, daughter Kimberly A. and husband Robert Williams, grandchildren Nicole, Samantha and Danielle Williams, Todd Martin and Brandon and Brooke Martin, brothers Philip, Peter, Stephen and Richard Martin. Visiting hours will be held Saturday November 16, from 12:00 noon until the start of the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the Blais and Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook.
