David "Buster" B. Crockett, 88, died Friday March 25, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. He was born January 26, 1928, in New Gloucester, a son of David and Irene (Cole) Crockett. Buster grew up in East Raymond, Maine and attended local schools. Following school he enlisted in the US Army where he was a WWII veteran, member of the Pacific Theater, and participant in the US occupation of Japan. He enjoyed a career as a mechanic with Congdon's Transportation/Deering Junction. Buster was an outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening. He loved traveling with his wife Barbara. Together they vacationed to Alaska, and many Canadian Providences. Buster cherished time with his family and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and hearty work ethic. In addition to his parents Buster was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years Barbara (Frye) Crockett; brother, Robert Crockett; and sister, Carolyn Edwards. He is survived by children, Stephen Crockett and his wife Diane of Starks, Geoffrey Crockett of Industry, David Crockett and his wife Kathy of Auburn, Brian Crockett and his wife Nancy of Gorham, Rosanna Palmer of Wallingford, CT, and Julie Pazareskis and her husband James of Wallingford, CT; sister Ruth James of Sacramento, CA; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday March 31, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel 434 River Road, Windham. An hour of visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will be private.
