Obituary

Darren M. Fickett, 45, passed away on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022. He will be dearly missed as he was deeply loved and will live in our hearts forever. Darren was born on November 15th, 1976, at Fort Ord Army Base, California the son of Sherri E. (Cooper) and James T Fickett Sr. Darren grew up in the town of Sebago and graduated from Lake Region High School, Naples in 1995. He attended the University of Maine Orono and was particularly proud of his ROTC days when he went through basic training and earned his airborne wings. Darren loved fishing in his vintage boat "the Squirrel" and hunting with his father and brothers. He was known to be the one with the golden touch when it came to hunting. He loved playing his guitar (the sketchy blues) reading, and history. He was a "tinkerer" of sorts, duct tape was his answer for most of life's problems. He worked many years for Great Northern Docks in Naples and recently was employed at Stone Surface in Naples. He was a "child of Lake Region" and never liked traveling too far from home. His three children were the pride and joy of his life. He told his parents a short while ago that he didn't have room for anyone else in his life because no one could ever be higher than number 4 on his list. The legacy of Darren's kind spirit, love of the outdoors, love of music, and sense of humor will live on through them. Darren is survived by his parents, brother Don (Sharon) Fickett, brother Jim Fickett and his three beloved children Samuel, Eva and Max along with many loved nieces and nephews and cousins. Celebration of Life open house will be held at the Sebago Town Hall on Saturday February 19th from 11:00am-3:00pm In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an account set up for his children at Norway Savings Bank, Naples Branch 207- 693-6224 or online at www.norwaysavings.bank With a nod to their Dad's humor, the account you will need to reference is aptly named "Fickett Offspring" or any of the children's names.
